Maintenance and operating funds are funds committed for the
daily operation of the district and short term needs for such
things as: salaries and benefits, supplies, transportation,
maintenance, utilities, etc.
Interest
and sinking funds are funds used to pay for the long term debt
service of the district.
Bond
funds are those funds which were voter approved for long term
capital needs of the district and include such things as: new
school sites, buildings, renovations and upgrades to roofs and air
conditioning systems, additions, equipment, furniture, etc. If all
bond voter approved projects are completed, the remaining funds
may be used for other projects or placed into the debt service
fund to help draw down the districts debt. These funds
cannot be moved from bond to the general operating account of the
district. |
