Special Education Department

It is great to be a part of Elgin ISD's ever changing, ever growing district.  Elgin WildcatI am very committed to our students as they are the future leaders and community members in our society.  My experience working with students with special needs began in 1995 and I have thoroughly enjoyed every unique and challenging opportunity.

Our department serves many students in our district through the numerous programs and academic offerings.  I recently heard a quote from an educator reminding us that "special education is not a final destination, but a launching pad to new endeavors".  With that said, what new endeavors do you envision for your child?  I don't want your child to feel restricted in special education, but rather empowered to make academic, emotional, physical and social gains through the support given as well as the opportunity to exit the program once he/she has achieved the set individual goals.

Please take the time to look through the pages on our website and look for the updates about activities occurring in our schools.  You are such an important part of having a successful program and I look forward to supporting our students and parents launch into the world of many possibilities!

Sincerely,
