    Students who have a GPA of an 85% or higher and have no disciplinary referrals qualify and can apply. Students can pick up an application from Ms. Ivey's room 117 before or after school, or download one here: NHS Application 2018 
    Applications are due to Ms. Ivey in room 117 no later than 4:15 Friday,March 9
    Spring Induction Date: Thursday April 24th, 6:30 in the High School Cafetorium.  

      Ø Pay annual dues ($20 or less)

      Ø Attend regular monthly meetings

      Ø Participate in at least ONE NHS event each semester

      Ø Complete at least FOUR hours of volunteer work each semester

      Ø Keep your GPA above a 3.4

    Failure to complete the above items will result in demerits. Three demerits will result in removal from NHS.


       Ø There are two kinds of NHS meetings—Full NHS meetings and Committee Meetings

      Ø  Full NHS meetings will be held the first week of each month.

       Ø Full NHS meetings are COME and GO.

        Ø Committee meetings will start at 8:00 and last roughly 15-20 minutes.




    PERSONAL VOLUNTEER/ COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS Download a Community Service Form here 

        Ø Members must complete at least four hours of community service each semester. This can be done in one 4+ hour project, or in shorter time periods. You may do more than one project to fulfill the requirement. You are encouraged to seek a volunteer opportunity in a career path that interests you or something that you are passionate about.

      Ø You should not count tasks that you already are doing, but seek out new opportunities for community service. (For example, babysitting family members, volunteering at your church, cutting your grandparents’ lawn.)

      Ø Serving on a committee does NOT count for volunteer hours.

      Ø Please fill out a Community Service Form when you complete your hours each semester.

      Ø Fall service hours are due to Ms. Ivey by our December meeting date.

    Blood Drive

    September 13th

    Make & hang signs for the blood drives, make announcements promoting the drive, and otherwise encouraging students to sign up. You should also sign up to work the day of the blood drive if possible

    Community Service

    September 20th

    Find and promote volunteer opportunities in the community to other NHS members. You may also decide to plan a group community service event on a weekend or after school

    Food Drive

    October 11th

    Plan our fall canned food drive; organize any contest/prizes for the drive, and to collect and count cans from classrooms

    Teacher Appreciation Breakfast

    Meeting: November 15th; Breakfast—November 18th

    Ensure all items are provided, remind students what to bring, and to sign up to work the breakfast, deliver plates to teachers on duty, and clean up after the event.
