General Information about blood drives:
The National Honor Society tries to host at least two blood drive each school year. The Central Texas Blood Center brings the mobile donation bus and parks outside the main building. It is a safe, friendly process, and you get a snack and a t-shirt when you're done.
To donate blood, you must be at least 17, weigh at least 115 lbs., and have photo identification with a birthdate. If you do not have a state ID, please bring a copy of your transcript (get this ahead of the blood drive day, please) and your school ID. If you plan to donate blood, be sure you eat a good breakfast in the morning, and avoid strenuous activity the rest of the afternoon. Athletes who have games or mandatory practice after school should not donate blood. Visit the Blood Center's Website find out what to expect after you donate blood.
