INFORMATION YOU MAY NEED:
Centex Independent Electrical Contractors
Centex IEC is a earn while you learn program. Students who are interested in entering the electrical trade should contact our office to schedule a time to stop in and fill out an application. We will then make that application available to our 103 electrical contractors. Once employed, the student will work a regular 40-hr+ work week on the job as an Apprentice Electrician working directly under the tutelage of a Journeyman Electrician and attend our apprenticeship program 1 night per week 5pm-9pm. The contractor pays for the school and may deduct a minimal amount (ex. $30) per week from the students pay check. Many contractors will have a reimbursement program in place that refunds much of the money back to the student based upon the students ability to maintain a high grade. The student will graduate our Apprenticeship Program in 4-yrs with NO debt, earning an estimated hourly rate of $22-$26hr (2017 projections) and ready to test out for their Journeyman license.
