Our Community

Elgin ISD calls the City of Elgin, Texas home. Elgin is one of the most dynamic and fast-growing communities in Central Texas. Known as the "Sausage Capital of Texas" and the "Brick Capital of the Southwest," Elgin is a historic town with a charming downtown district, a population of over 10,000, and deep roots that stretch back generations. “Perfectly Situated” along the US-290 corridor just 25 miles east of Austin, our community offers the warmth of small-town life alongside convenient access to major employment hubs like Tesla and Samsung. Families are choosing Elgin in record numbers — and our schools are growing right alongside them. That growth brings new energy, new faces, and new opportunities, but one thing stays constant: our traditions and the sense of belonging that defines life as a Wildcat.

Our Campuses

We proudly serve our Wildcats at ten campuses, district-wide (with more coming soon)! Our students also have access to a full-sized, competition-level auditorium, a multipurpose athletic facility and newly-updated athletic facilities. Soon, our high school students will have the opportunity to take courses at The Homestead - our brand-new Culinary Arts facility and at Studio E, our student broadcasting suite, which will be housed at Wildcat Stadium!

And we’re growing! Learn more about the facilities we currently building and improving: EISD Bond Projects
