American Disabilities Act

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”), Elgin ISD will not discriminate against qualified individuals on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities. Elgin ISD will generally, upon request, provide reasonable modifications to policies and programs and appropriate aids and services for effective communication to ensure that people with disabilities have an equal opportunity to enjoy all of its programs, services, and activities. The ADA does not require Elgin ISD to take any action that would fundamentally alter the nature of its programs or services, or impose an undue financial or administrative burden.

Employment: Elgin ISD does not discriminate on the basis of disability in its hiring or employment practices and complies with all regulations promulgated under Title I of the ADA. The ADA requires employers to provide “reasonable accommodations” to employees with a disability, which includes a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities.
To request an accommodation, submit your request via e-mail listed below.

Once the request is submitted, the information will be reviewed by the ADA Committee, an interactive interview may be conducted, and a final recommendation will be issued.

Complaints: Complaints that a program, service, or activity of Elgin ISD is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the following coordinator:
