Student Enrollment

Elgin ISD is excited to announce that we have a new enrollment system called Skyward Family Access.

Pre-Kindergarten

Elgin ISD offers a Pre-Kindergarten program to children who qualify. A qualifying child must be:

4 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2025
A resident of the Elgin Independent School District boundary
Meet immunization requirements
Meet at least one of the qualifying criteria established by the Texas Education Code:
- Economically disadvantaged
- English language learner
- Homeless
- Child of an active duty member of the U.S. armed forces or member of the U.S. armed forces who was injured or killed while on active duty
- Child is in or previously in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services
- Parent of the child is eligible for the Star of Texas (peace officer, firefighter or emergency medical first responder) seriously injured or killed in the line of duty

Step 1 | Create Skyward Family Access Account

Returning Families

If your student(s) were enrolled in Elgin ISD during the 2024-2025 school year, we will automatically email Skyward Family Access login steps to the email address that you have on file with Elgin ISD. You may use your Skyward Family Access account to upload proof of residency, update emergency contacts, and enroll any new school-age children.

New Families to Elgin ISD

If your family is new to Elgin ISD (your student was not enrolled in Elgin ISD during the 2024-2025 school year), please create a Skyward Family Access account.

Step 2 | Gather Required Documents

In addition to completing the online enrollment, the following documentation is needed for each student at the time of enrollment. A student will not be permitted to start school and will not be placed in a class until the required documentation is received.

View the Enrollment Checklist for all required documents, including:
- Original or certified copy of the student's birth certificate
- Photo/scan of parent/guardian's government issued photo ID
- Immunization record (due within 30 days of enrollment)
- Proof of residency (please see Enrollment Requirements)
Documents can be submitted electronically. To prepare, make sure each document is a separate digital file. Recommended file types: PDF, JPG or DOCX. Limit 5MB maximum file size per document file.
