2023-2024 Instructional Year Calendar

The Elgin ISD Board of Trustees on Monday approved the 2023-24 EISD instructional calendar, which begins in July.

Highlights of the calendar include a week off for Thanksgiving break (Nov. 20-24); a Winter Break from Dec. 18 to Jan. 2 (with early release for students on Dec.15 and a staff development day on Jan. 3); at least one holiday date each month from September to May; a week off for Spring Break (March 11-15, with early release on March 8 and staff development on March 18); and a May 24, 2024 graduation event at Shoreline Church in Austin. The calendar will also provide embedded professional learning days and planning days for staff throughout the school year.

The EISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved the instructional calendar.

The school district considered input from district administration and staff before the calendar was approved. A total of 414 responses were received in a calendar survey that solicited input on various aspects of it, including a short first week of school, a one-week break for Thanksgiving, ending the school year before Memorial Day and early release on the last day of school and before Winter Break.
