Welcome to the 2023-24 school year

Aug. 15, 2023

Our Elgin ISD students return to campus on Wednesday, Aug. 16, and we can’t wait to see everyone taking part in the First Day experience.

Regarding First Day of School 2023, our elementary campuses will begin classes at 7:30 a.m. and 7:35 a.m. Please check with your campuses for times their doors will open daily. Click here for a link to school hours:

For anyone needing to purchase school supplies, the supplies lists for elementary, Intermediate and Middle schools are online. Please note that Elgin ISD now requires clear or mesh backpacks for all elementary and secondary campuses. The requirement will pertain to campuses as well as all district buses.

All students in grades 7-12 will receive Chromebooks to be used as student-learning devices. These devices will be used to access various educational resources, including digital textbooks and Google Classrooms.

In order for students to receive Chromebooks, parents/guardians must complete the Chromebook Agreement Form for each student. Click here for the Chromebook Agreement:

New student registration continues in the days leading up to First Day. In-person registration will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on campuses daily. Online registration is also available at this link.

We’d also like to note that registration is underway for Elgin ISD Transportation Services for the 2023-24 school year. Upon registration, families will receive emails confirming their student(s)’ bus route number and other vital bus information.

Please note: All families utilizing Elgin ISD Transportation Services for the 2023-24 school year must register.

Also, we ask parents for patience with our Transportation partners in the early part of the new school year as drivers acclimate to their new routes and increased traffic congestion, especially in school zones.

Lastly, construction at Elgin High School continues as voter-approved bond measures take shape there. Please review Phase 3 traffic pattern maps here or on district social media before planning stops at EHS this coming semester.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at school as our students move toward graduation and other future goals.
