One Team, One Dream Recognition

The EISD Board of Trustees recognized the June "One Team, One Dream" honoree at Monday's board meeting. This month's honorees were from Booker T. Washington Elementary School and were nominated by Principal Linda Tamez.

“When a need was presented at our campus, these two ladies showed up and stepped up. They worked together to make sure our students received the support they needed.”

Our Board of Trustees recognized our May "One Team, One Dream" awardees at Monday's board meeting. Learn what their colleagues had to say about them below:

"Joanna Smith, the Librarian at Trinity Ranch Elementary, truly exemplifies the spirit of Elgin ISD’s One Team One Dream Award. Ms. Smith has taken Harvest Ridge Elementary under her wing and has been instrumental in helping our library program and library aide thrive. She supports us by helping purchase books, working with vendors, and ensuring we receive important communication and resources."

"Bo Godfrey, a United States Air Force veteran and chairman of the Bastrop County Cruisers, exemplifies the spirit of “we’re all in this together” through his strong advocacy and support for students and programs at Elgin High School. In his leadership role, he actively champions the automotive program and the National Naval Defense Corps of Cadets (NNDCC), fostering career readiness, leadership, and community connection."

At the April board meeting, two special recognitions were awarded as part of the One Team, One Dream recognition program. Here's what their nominators had to say about them:

𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗿𝘆 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗱 "As the principal of Neidig Elementary, I am proud to nominate Mr. Henry, our dedicated crossing guard, for the One Team, One Dream Award. Mr. Henry plays an essential role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students each and every day. Rain or shine, he arrives with a positive attitude, ready to greet students and families with a smile, setting the tone for a welcoming and supportive school environment. His commitment goes far beyond directing traffic, he builds relationships with our students, makes each child feel seen, and has been with the district long enough to watch our student grow to become young adults. Mr. Henry exemplifies the spirit of “We’re all in this together!” through his consistent care and support for others." - NES Principal Paul Coronado

At March's EISD Board of Trustees Meeting, a special BTW teacher was awarded as part of our One Team, One Dream recognition program.

“Michelle teaches math yet is always willing to help us with reading, writing and science ideas. This is my first year teaching 3rd grade and she has helped us navigate testing, new websites and programs, offered ideas, encouragement and helpful teaching tips throughout the year. She has a cheerful disposition and remains enthusiastic and upbeat every day. I'm so grateful to her every day and glad to get to know her and work with her this year.” -Jenna Rice

"Kristi Cooper has had two sons who have gone through our FFA program, with the last one graduating last year in 2025, yet she STILL continues to serve our FFA and 4H students. She is treasurer for the county stock show, where she is in charge of organizing fundraisers and helps put on and run the county stock show and youth fair. She has also served Elgin FFA as the Booster club President who tirelessly gave and supported the four Ag teachers and the 100 plus FFA members at Elgin HS. She always wants what's best for kids and to help our programs thrive! - Becky Maass

"Our Literacy First team has collaborated across the district this year to provide strong, consistent support for one another and our students. They navigated several challenges, including transitions between campuses, collaborating around testing at multiple locations while others attended required training , adapting to a new instructional approach, and more than doubling the number of students served. Throughout these challenges, the team has demonstrated exceptional flexibility, professionalism, and commitment, continuing to support one another across all elementary campuses.
